Dancing Queen

I absolutely love the age that Lexi's at right now! She is such a ham and I honestly wouldn't have it any other way! :) I can't wait for this summer to get here. I started to look at the baby pools for our backyard and little swim suits! I know she's going to LOVE the water! :)

Today, we're going to be a little busier than normal! we have our little Mommy and Me gymnastics class at CalElite then we'll hurry home for lunch and a nap and then we're off to FloJo park for a little play time (lexi's fun) followed by a walk around the lake (my fun!). I love being busy! :)

Lately, if I look at Lexi and say "dance, dance, dance" Lexi turns into a little bouncing dancing queen! It is absolutely adorable. I've been letting her hang out in just her diaper a lot lately to give her back rash time and fresh air to heal... i think she enjoys being a nakey baby! haha

3-day weekends

I love that Nick gets 3-day weekends every 3 weeks! It's the perfect amount of time to get away to Lake Mead... and he doesn't have to take vacation or sick days! :)

This weekend was somewhat uneventful! We hung out a lot, which I love. Nick is my favorite and I love just being able to sit around with him. He is such a great daddy and on his 3-day weekends, he actually gets to play with Alexis. (And I get a break!! )

Well, We got two new art pieces for our room. Nick- FINALLY- got his Goddard picture and we finally agreed on a piece to put above our bed. :) I love it! Our new shelves will be delivered any day now, too. Our room is REALLY finally coming together! We also got a couple more drawers to add to our closet and I think we decided that we need just two more!

Nick also got the idea a little while ago of getting a pulley thing up on the rafters and getting his poker table, that he and a couple friends (Davey and Scott) built, up off the floor so there would be room to play pool easily. It seemed like a great idea, but we'll see how great of an idea it really is when he decides to take it down to play next time. For now, though, I love having it out of the way. :)

While Nick was busy working in the garage, I got the idea of setting Lexi's pack n play up in the drive way so she can watch daddy work without having to be held or in the way all day. It was the best idea. She literally played in there for about an hour at a time throughout the day. PERFECT!! :)

She is SOOOOO close to crawling now! It's so fun to see her try. She gets up on all fours and just rocks back and forth. She's launched herself forward a couple times and face planted. It's kind of funny but it scares her and she cries a little each time. Poor baby!!

I started looking at toys last night for the birthday party we'll be going to in a couple weeks. This will be our first first birthday party we'll be going to and the mom is super cautious about the chemicals in the normal everyday toys, so I'm pretty sure we decided that we'll get her some blocks- made out of natural wood or chemical free materials. :) We definitely have to shop online for this lil one! Thank goodness amazon has everything I thought of getting her though! That site really is amazing. For everyday easy or hard to find things, it's simply put- the best!

OH- the most exciting news from this weekend... Rachyl got a car!!!! :) FINALLY! haha She got a Black Honda Civic Hybrid. I'm so happy she'll have her own way of getting herself around now, but I think I'll definitely miss driving her around. I love my sister and I'm so happy for her! I'm seeing her today, so I'll take pictures of her in her new (to her) car!! :D

I know this post is all words, but my picture loader just won't work this morning and I'm frustrated tinkering with it, so I'll just add the pictures later... again.

Happy Hump Day!

It's finally Wednesday and we are lucky since tomorrow is Nick's "Friday"! I love when he gets 3 day weekends so we can hang out. I really like having fun time with Nick. Well, we are slowly finishing our room remodel and I can't wait to see it done.

I was browsing Etsy today... I really should be banned from that store. I'm basically obsessed with re-doing rooms. Today, I found some great throw pillows! When we get a new couch, I want to add some great throw pillows on it. Here's what I've got in mind... so far.

i just love this one. it makes me happy. I don't know where it'll go, but I have to have it some day! :)

These are pretty and light. I hope they'll find their way into our house eventually!

Well, Lexi is trying to help me type this update, so I'll cut it short. Etsy has the cutest headbands for her, too. :) It's basically my favorite place to shop online now. Well, since Lexi makes it impossible to do anything on the computer, this is it until bed time... in an hour. :)

new look. fresh start!

It has been entirely too long since I've posted. haha

I'm going to try to get this REALLY going now. weekly updates, perhaps?? :) Sounds great to me!!

Since I've posted last, so much has happened! Lexi is 7 1/2 months old now! We joined a mom's group in January and it is so great! I love getting together with other mom's a couple times a week for playdates. (Pretty sure Lexi loves her new friends, too!). February birthdays came and went and I even attempted a surprise dinner for Nick! He's a whole 26 years old now! lol... definitely getting up there! ;)

I got him 2 wine glass wall shelves (ok, this gift is for us...) and a movie themed board game! The most exciting part of his birthday, though, was his gift to himself! We now have a fur baby! :) We rescued ourselves a 2 year old kitty! She is absolutely the best kitty ever! She's currently curled up by my feet sleeping. :) Her temporary name is Mama Cas, but I'm just not feeling that one. I can't seem to get a good picture of her, so here's one for now... but it's really not the most flattering pic of her! haha

 Sorry- this is a word-y post as I rush to get this done so I can get Lexi up and play with her!


Nick and I decided it is time to get Lexi to sleep like a normal baby. haha- that is, in a crib... and through the night! Up til now, we were desperate and did whatever we could to get her to sleep- so she has been in her swing... getting bottles 2-3 times at night. Last night was our first attempt at making her cry it out. She cried for about 40 minutes, then went to sleep! She didn't need a bottle... she stayed asleep for the rest of the night- til 9am, too!

Tomorrow, we start our mommy and me gymnastics class at CalElite gym! It's going to be so much fun rolling around with Lex! I can't wait to start... and also to getmore pictures! She is such a perfect baby. I love her so much.

I am so thankful for every day I get to spend with my precious little girl. I really wish I could freeze time and keep her this age forever. She is the happiest little chubby cheeked baby around! :)

it's been a while!

So, before Lexi was born, I had all these thoughts of how I could blog everyday- sharing every little detail of her little life. I wish I actually had the time for that. I think facebook has just been easier for me. I go on that every few days and add a little status update... adn then just tag her in the pics i'm already uploading to my page. perfect solution.

I really do love blogs though... I wish blogging was as convenient as facebook sometimes.

well, lexi is one day shy of being SIX MONTHS OLD!!! I can't believe it~ on one hand, it feels like she's always been here but on the other hand... these past six months have passed by WAY too fast! She has her dr appt on monday and I know she'll be off the charts. It seems like she just sprouted lately... she's HUGE!

A few weeks in the making!

So these past few weeks, I've completely failed at taking pictures... and blogging! I've been so busy with end of summer things... spending lots of time with Aunt Rachyl before she headed back to school! :)

We had so much fun at the lake... TWO weekends in a row and we're heading back this weekend again!! Definitely making up for the times we couldn't go this summer! Since the first trip to the lake, Alexis has been sleeping soooo good!! She usually goes down around 9 and sleeps til 4 or 5am and goes back to sleep til 9 or 10ish am!! She LOVES her sleep! it's AMAZING! I love her so much! :)

She has grown soooo much lately and smiles at anyone and everyone... and even started "talking". I don't know what she's saying but I get tears laughing so hard at her attempts at conversation. Last week, we went to the mall with Rachyl and Nika. Nika had red lips that Lexi wouldn't stop "talking" about! haha.. she was so amazed by them! Too cute. I really wish I got it on video! I think I'll have to attempt the video thing again very soon. :)

I don't know where the camera went, so I'm going to combine this and next weeks entries. It will be all about her new fondness of sleeping at night and the lake!! :) amazing times...

oh, BIG thanks to the lactation consultant who recommended a bottle that Alexis actually takes!! Now I can resume pumping without feeling like I'm wasting milk!! :) The First Years Breastflow bottles are AMAZING! :D
