She's HERE!!!

Well, July 14th was life changing!! I Finally got to meet my little girl and I absolutely love her. She is perfect. :)

I wasn't really nervous about the whole induction process but I was so nervous about becoming responsible for this little human. I went in to Mission Hospital at 6:30 and things got started around 8am, with blood tests and hooking up of IV's and starting of fluids and pitocin! Around 9am, my dr came in and broke my water and WOAH!!! They don't give you any warning about the pain you experience once your water is broken while on pitocin! After about 10 minutes of shaking and crying in pain, the nurse came in and I asked how soon I could get the epidural... :) It took the anesthesiologist (sp?) about 10 minutes to get there then another 10 minutes to administer it and for it to kick in, then I was a happy camper... sleeping through the rest of the labor! haha I'm not kidding at all. I slept all the way til I had to push, then couldn't even open my eyes through that. I started pushing at about 3:10pm and at 3:52, my baby girl was plopped on my chest. :)

Okay, now it's time to be honest. Everyone has different reactions when they first see their baby. My initial reaction was "ew. sticky!" when she was put on my chest. haha I don't know if that's normal at all, but I couldn't help it. After she got cleaned up and I looked at Nick, the tears started flowing. Something amazing happened and I couldn't stop the tears. We created this little life and she was FINALLY here... all 7.2lbs and 19 inches of her. I held her for a couple hours before any visitors came in to meet little Lexi. Even though she cried for most of that, I was so happy to FINALLY have her in my arms. She was so perfect and beautiful. :)

It's been a week since we've been home now and it's definitely been an adjustment. I love her so much and I pretty much have her eating schedule down. :) There have been a couple days where she wants to eat every hour on the hour, but for the most part- she eats every 3-4 hours. She's such a good little baby. I love watching her sleep, eat, and open her eyes.

Things she loves:
-the boob!
-Aunt Rachyl (people say babies only smile with gas but she wakes up and smiles just hearing her auntie's voice... LOVE IT!)
-being bounced in your arms
-soft blankets
-her swing
-vibrating bouncer and bed

Things she hates:
-baths
-diaper changing
-clothes changing
-pacifiers when she's hungry

things I hate:
-her sharp finger nails scratching her face!!!

The dr says she's a little piggy! :) When we left the hospital last Friday, she was 6.11 lbs... by the time we went to the doctors on Monday, she already weighed 7.8 pounds and grew an INCH!!! She's such a little love bug and I love that I get to watch her grow and learn every day. It's amazing how much I can love this tiny little human. She's amazing. :)

Here are some pictures from the last week. :) I think this is going to be a weekly blog instead of daily blog as it's hard to find time to be spending on the computer (for now, at least)!!
